Impressive parade

Dressed in full ceremonial gear with colourful 'pagris' (headgear) donning their heads the recruits took an oath to serve the nation even at peril to their lives.

'Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai sab ko mera salaam'

The oath was administered to them by their respective religious priests and heads, an example of national integrity and communal harmony.

Holding the nation's honour high

The parade marks the culmination of nearly a year of rigorous military and technical training in their respective trade roll, undertaken by these recruits who will now join the army troops in far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir, North East and other border areas in the service of the nation.

The parade was followed by the 'Lanyard Cermony' in which the proud parents and officers presented the ASC lanyards to these young soldiers. The recruits turn into trained soldiers after wearing this lanyard.
