Irene Pinto's Fight with Life Comes to an End - An Untimely Death

Daijiworld Media Network - Riyadh / Dubai

Mumbai, Jul 16: The hopes of living of 51-year-old Irene Pinto amidst of prayers from thousands of well-wishers world-wide came to a stand still as a jovial friend and ever-similing Irene Pinto breathed her last in the hospital on Monday July 16 evening.

It was just few weeks ago that Irene celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary in Saudi Arabia. She was living in Saudi Arabia with her husband for over two-and-half decades now. The family went on holidays in Mumbai and again celebrated their silver jubilee of wedding with family and friends few days back.

But, July 7, 2007 turned to be a sad day for the family as Irene's son Merric was riding bike and Irene was riding pillion. The bike was running not even  at 20 km per hour speed.  But destiny was jealous about the happy family of Irene and wanted to inflict deep pain in the entire family.  The bike skidded and Irene fell on the wrong side and her neck was broken immediately.

From there she never recovered as her fight to survival went on for 8 long days.  The entire Mangalorean community in Riyadh to whom Irene and her family was so dear is in utter shock after hearing this painful news.  Irene was the robust, jovial and ever-helping member of the family.

Prayer poured in from all corners, prayer houses after daijiworld.com published the news asking for prayers.  Though hopes were never lost, Almighty's plan was different.  Perhaps He was in dire need of such a kind-hearted and good-willed person that He called her to His Kingdom, leaving her family, near and dear ones and all those who knew her are in despair.

"It is a black day in our life, we mourn Irene's death, we know she cannot come back, but we all are devastated." said one of Irene's close family friend from Riyadh speaking to daijiworld over the phone.

"I cannot believe, I still feel that she is very close to us and talking to us with usual humnour and wit. This is a big loss for our family.  But we only hope that her husband and children will recover from this shock soon" said Norbert Sequeira, a close relative of Irene , residing in Dubai , while speaking to daijiworld.
