Eric Ozario Bags 'Konkani Kutam Bahrain Award 2007'

Mangalore, Jul 13: Konkani activist, singer-musicwriter, organizer and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario has been chosen to receive the prestigious Konkani Kutam - Bahrain annual award for 2007.

This was announced by the Kutam convener Richard Moras at a press conference in the Press Club on Friday, July 13 morning.

The award is presented every year to a Konkani personality for significant contribution to any facets of Konkani field. It consists of a citation, a memento and a cash purse of Rs 50,000.

The jury panel consisted of Konkani writers Stephen H Mascarenhas (Hemacharya) and Cyril G Sequeira (Sijies Taccode') and Konkani Prachar Sanchalan president Roy Castelino.

The award will be presented on behalf of Konkani Kutam by Fr Muller Medical College and Hospital administrator Fr Denis D'Sa with Mandd Sobhann president Louis J Pinto as chief guest, at a function at 7-00 pm on Friday, July 20 in the Sandesha auditorium at Bajjodi here.

Award committee members Titus Noronha and Vitori Karkal were also present at the press conference.
