Mangalore: Express Bus from Udupi Catches Fire - Passengers Safe

Mangalore, Jul 12: Fire broke out in the engine chamber of a moving bus at Baikampady near here, on Thursday July 12. afternoon.

The 'Bharati' express bus was plying on Udupi to Mangalore route, when the fire, caused by an electrical short circuit, was detected in the battery compartment.

However, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the fire before it could do much damage to the engine and cause any hurt to passengers.

No injury has been reported, sources added.

    I had heard that the space shuttles when they re enter the earths atmosphere are said to catch fire due to great velocity and thats why they have shields. Whether our buses are also running at great velocity and have friction with the atmosphere which might have caused fire ?
