Udupi, Jun 8: District in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya has hinted at the setting up of Koti-Chennaya park on the lines of mini folklore university.

Dr Acharya is reportedly going to Karkala to identify the land for the theme park on Monday June 11. Deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj, MLA K Raghupati Bhat and Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar are expected to accompany the minister.

A meeting was held in this regard to develop a blue print for the theme park in which Acharya has suggested construction of the wax models of cultural heroes like Koti, Chennaya, Mayandala, Kanthabare, Boodabare and also Mugera heroes the contemporaries of Chennaya.

A biotech park on 50 acres of forest area which will be built without cutting a single tree is also on the cards. The park will be in commemoration of Koti-Chennaya’s mother Deyi Baidyeti.
