Udupi, Jun 7: Newly-constructed Don Bosco Youth Centre was inaugurated at Shirva near here on Wednesday June 6.
The renovated house belongs to the late Benedict Menezes and family and was blessed by Fr Valerian Pinto parish priest of Shirva.
The programme was attended by many of the benefactors, well-wishers and devotees along with provincial of Don Bosco’s.
The Salesians will also start a hostel for the PUC boys and later a hostel for B.Ed. students. They also intend to start a technical school too.
Fr Maxim D’Souza SDB who was appointed as the director of the centre two years ago has played a major part in establishing a boarding for boys at Kelmbet.
