Mangalore, Jun 6:  The students of 2005-07 batch of MBA of ICFAI National College have been successfully placed in leading companies such as HDFC bank, JP Morgan, UTI, Pantaloon, ICICI Direct, Standard Chartered Bank etc.

This was announced by Prof Prabhakar Timble of ICFAI at a press conference here on Wednesday June 6.

ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India) is a premiere management institute of India and has over 160 centers across the country. Prof Narayan Kayarkatte, the principal of the college said that the curriculum was designed in a way so as to make is student-friendly with increased interaction. The college provides special internship programme that lasts for 3 months that gives the students the opportunity to work in the professional environment and get exposure in the corporate world. It also provides the students the opportunity to know their competency and bag the best placement opportunities.   The students are paid a stipend of Rs 2000 – Rs 4000 and are also awarded incentives on their performance. The students presently pursuing their MBA who were interning at various organizations have generated a substantial amount of business to the tune of Rs 4.5 crore.

The admissions for the academic batch of 2007 - 2009 has already commenced and the response has been positive. Admission is done on the basis of a Common Entrance Test.  The institute offers Merit Scholarship to the students. Students who secured above 60 % at their degree are given the merit scholarship and they get to avail its benefit so long as they maintain consistent performance of 8 CGPA throughout the semesters. A student who scores CGPA of 8 at a later time can also be awarded the same.

The institute offers Soft Skill Program, Special English Language Bridge Course in order to improve their communication skills. The Institute has started giving medical Insurance to the students up to Rs 1 lac.  The fee is Rs 2, 26,000 and it includes exam fees and books free of cost. The idea to provide lap tops to students is on the cards.

Senior faculty members Gopinathan, Prof Ajay Anchan and Prof Savita Shenoy were also present at press conference.
