Mangalore, Jun 6: ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ a documentary by Davis Guggenheim, was screened at Government PU Women’s College, Balmatta here on the occasion of World Environment Day on Tuesday June 5.

The screening was organized by the state forestry department, Parisara Sangha and Government Teachers’ Training Institute, Balmatta here.

The film portrays the idea that the there is a no time left for human beings and hence one should do something about issues like global warming and other environmental problems before it’s too late. This documentary had become a hit at the Sundance Film festival.

Prior to the screening of the documentary, city division deputy conservator of Forest Vijay Kumar in a programme explained the dangers faced by wild animals and said that afforestation will help in bringing down the danger levels.

He also distributed saplings on the occasion as part of a programme initiated by the College’s Environment Association.
