Udupi, Jun 2: Nagarjuna Virodhi Horata Samiti executive president Vijaykumar Hegde lashed out at chief minister Kumaraswamy’s recent statements that he had not received any report on the power project.

Speaking at a press meet here on Thursday May 31, he said that the Samiti had submitted a report to the CM in May 2006 giving details on the ill effects of the project. The same was also explained to Kumaraswamy in four meetings, he said.

He also clarified that the chief minister had in fact forwarded the detailed report to the energy secretary but so far nothing has come of it.

Alleging that the CM has been misleading the public by giving such statements, he expressed his disappointment at the indifference shown by district in-charge ministers of Dakhina Kannada and Udupi districts and threatened to intensify the protest in the days ahead.
