Roads or Fields?

With a section of the stretch, from Marthahalli to Shiradi Ghats on NH 48, worsening this time even before the beginning of monsoons, KSRTC has been left with little options as of now.  Possibilities of this stretch being repaired before rains are too grim.

Monsoons are nearing but the roads are still the same. the conditions of the road are getting worse day by day. Particularly the NH 48 which connects trhe city with state capital Bangalore. The passengers travelling to Bangalore face lots of problems because of the roads especially during monsoon seasons.

If  this is going to continue then people might lose hopes on the government regarding the improvement of roads.the only one question might arise taht whether the roads will ensure comfortable travel ever? But on the other hand the NH 17 from Mangalore to Kundapur is said to be made better.  Travel will be more faster and easier from Kundapur to Mangalore after the construction of four lane roads. But at the same time if the NH 48 is also made better then people would be more satisfied.

Mangalore airport going international

Former chief minister Veerappa Moily wrote to the union government requesting them to permit Mangalore airport to operate direct Haj flights.

Mangalore airport which was a domestic airport until recently, is now becoming an international airport. Flights have already started from Mangalore-Dubai, Mangalore- Muscat, Mangalore-Baharain, Mangalore-Doha ande vice-versa. Within two months flights will be starting to Kuwait.flights to saudi Arabia will also be coming up very soon. but it would be better if they would start the flights early as it would be more convenient for Haj pilgrims as well as the other people from Mangalore working in Saudi.

Flight on a Runway

A speeding private bus rammed into parked cars near Nantur. The bus plying between the city and Mermajal was on its way to the city when the accident occurred.  The driver was reportedly trying to overtake another vehicle but saw a tanker coming from opposite direction at the last moment.

It is common that most of the accidents involving private buses take place even before the bus rams.  It is so because the drivers of other vehicle get panicky and are confused when they see a marauding private bus coming from opposite direction. Perhaps nothing moves faster than private buses in the city. These buses just zoom away causing terror in the hearts of all.  Even if there is no place for a motorbike to move, private buses move in busy roads. It is mainly because of smooth roads. If roads are made smooth then everyone  will ride or drive rashly thus increasing the number of accidents.

Mangalore Seems to be in Good Health !

Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said that the malaria cases had drastically declined in the last few months in Dakshina Kannada. Compared to the total number of cases registered in 2006, malaria was less present this year, thanks to extensive awareness as well as preventive measure taken by administration and people themselves.

Government is working hard for the improvement in health and sanitation. Lots of health care units are coming up mainly to control epidemic, infectious and deadly diseases. At the same time government is also undertaking the construction of toilets for downtrodden. This will also help the people to remain fit and healthy. we find taht the people are less affected by malaria this year. This is mainly because of the improvement in health and sanitation.

The Mangalore city is going to get a grant of Rs 200 crore under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns of the Union Government. The grant, which comes in the wake of the completion of the urban infrastructure development projects by the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC), is expected to give a further boost to development work in Mangalore.

Mangalore is still a developing city. Mangalore is being developed as the days are passing by.In the coming years if the government takes the same interest in development then mangalore is sure to be a second Mumbai. Mangalore as we see its a happening place now,as days pass by, more and more companies would flourish in this city.

Not only national companies but also multinational companies would flourish in this city unlike any other metropolitan or developed cities like Mumbai, Bangalore etc. Progress of these companies helps in providing employment to a huge number. Ragging - Will it be banned Ever?

Educational Institutions which have adopted a high degree of intolerance towards ragging have now been further bolstered by Supreme Court’s orders to file FIR against those who involve in ragging in the colleges.

Ragging, though it has been banned, is commonly practised in most of the colleges by the students. The seniors usually rag juniors who are newly admitted to the colleges. The seniors think that its their duty to rag and scare the juniors, may be for some entrtainment Most of the times students think that they were ragged when they were new to the college now its their chance to rag their juniors. But no one thinks the other way round. If faced problems because of ragging let our juniors not face it. Or no one thinks the effect of it, which situation the studentis passing through. We find major ragging in proffessioal colleges, where students even lose their life.If this follows then many would stop going to colleges because of the fear of being ragged. So serious actions must be taken to stop ragging.
