Dynamo Kiev win Ukrainian Premier League title

Kiev, May 18 (IANS): Dynamo Kiev have defeated Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 1-0 to secure the Ukrainian Premier League football title for the first time in six years.

Domagoj Vida's goal in the 84th minute was enough for Dynamo to win the match on Sunday and become the Ukrainian football champion of season 2014-2015 in front of their home crowd at the Olympic stadium, reports Xinhua.

Dynamo have secured the title with 62 points from 24 games in the 14-team tournament with two matches yet to be played.

Currently, the "white-blues" have a seven-point lead over the defending champions Shakhtar Donetsk and Dnipro ranked the third with 50 points.

Dynamo had won 14 Ukrainian Premier League titles since the tournament was established in 1992.
