McGrath's second wife expecting their first child

Sydney, May 18 (IANS): Former Australian fast bowling legend Glenn McGrath and his second wife Sara have revealed they are expecting their first child together.

The delighted couple, who have been married for five years, announced the addition to their family on Monday with the baby due in October, reports cricket.com.au on Monday.

McGrath has two children -- 15-year-old James and 13-year-old Holly - from his marriage to late wife Jane, who lost her battle against breast cancer in 2008.

"We are adding to our family and we couldn't be more delighted," McGrath said.

"The kids are really excited. James used to ask us on a regular basis whether we were going to give him a baby brother. To see both their faces when they learned the news.

James jumped up and gave both of us a hug and kiss. And that was really special for me and I know it meant a lot to Sara," he said.

McGrath said he had not expected to add to his family after undergoing a vasectomy in 2003, but the couple had been able to conceive via the IVF (In vitro fertilization) method.

He said he knew his late wife Jane would be happy with the news.

"I know she (Jane) would want me to be happy and she'd want her children to be happy and they are, I have never been one to live in the past," he said.
