Mumbai, Mar 17: Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pankaj Nihalani is in the hot water, from his board members as well as the Hindi film fraternity but reportedly no one has spoken about dethroning him.

Given the recent spate of censors faced by almost all the films released it seems but natural that Bollywood decided to meet up with the higher powers with their tales of woo. Mukesh Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, Shabana Azmi, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ramesh Sippy and Gulzar were among those who met with Minister of State Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

The Minister apparently stated that while they have placed before him a number of suggestions regarding film certification as well as clearances that are required by the industry at certain times, no one said anything about removing the CBFC chief.

On the other hand, the members of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) are none too happy either about not being consulted on many recent decisions such as the decision on the 27 or so cuss words to be banned for all time. This matter was brought to light by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who is one such memeber unhappy with Nihalani dictatorial approach to their work.

He spoke out when the Anushka Sharma starrer NH10 underwent 10 cuts for the usage of bad words such as those outlined in the afore said list. The list itself was decided upon, apparently without the unanimous agreement of all the board members which is the way that it was supposed to be done.

Members of the CBFC Board Ashok Pandit, Nandini Sardesai and Mihir Bhutta too have accused Nihalani of not paying attention to their recommendations and subsequently making the board more redundant.
