Mangalore, Dec 3:  It was a day of vibrant youthful energy, colour and music at the Kalaangann amphitheatre. 'Yuva Mahotsav 2006', a three day event from Dec 1 to 3 was held to mark 20 fruitful years of Mandd Sobhann, 5 yrs since the birth of Kalaangann and the 60th monthly theatre.

 

Contests in singing, dance and skit added colour to the event which was organized by the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in association with 'Konkani Yuva Awaz' and Mandd Sobhann.


 
As part of the Tevllo Dabazo (triple celebrations), competitions were conducted at the PUC, college and general levels.

  

 

At the PUC level competition the winners were St Aloysius College team 2 while the second and third places were bagged by St Agnes College and St Aloysius Team 1 respectively.  

 

St Aloysius College, Canara College and SDM College secured the first, second and third place respectively.

 

Cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 will be given to the winning teams. 

The celebrations also showcased a heritage exhibition – Daiz Pradarshan over the last three days.
