Mangalore, Nov 29: Malavoor gram panchayat is hitting news headlines for all wrong reasons for sometime now.  At first a group claiming to be the well-wishers of clerk Bharati staged a protest in front of the DC's office opposing the suspension orders issued against the latter.  A few days later, her suspension was revoked and she was re-appointed.  Following this, another group rose up, opposing her re-appointment. They even held a press conference to prove that how justified were they in their decision.

Now on Wednesday November 29 morning, another group gathered in front of deputy commissioner's office.  This time it was opposing her re-appointment.  The protestors complained that Bharati was one-sided during her tenure and was involved in corruption along with the secretary.  They blamed Bharati of swindling money released under SGRY scheme to the weaker sections of the society.

The protestors were of the opinion that Bharati had been taking her duty casually and was never serious about serving the people.  She used to take leave very often and be on holiday when there was heavy workload even, they complained.

GP member Naveen, local leader M Ismail, BMS district president Vishwanath Shetty and others spoke on the occasion.
