Bangalore, Oct 25: In a major road mishap, seven people including three Kodava couples were killed when a Tempo Trax and a lorry collided head-on today on Tumkur-Tiptur Highway between Nittur and Doddaguni at around 10.15 am today.
The deceased, working in various companies here, were returning from a holiday trip to Goa. The victims are identified as Bachamanda Bopaiah (30), his wife Prathi (21), Nellamakkada Chiran (29), his wife Vincy (25), Bachamanda Sachin (31), his wife Sachitha (25). Driver Naganath and three others are seriously injured.
The victims were among the 17 persons travelling in the Tempo Trax. They are being treated in various hospitals in the city. The bodies kept at Gubbi will be brought to Tumkur for postmortem.
