Colombia recall Falcao for Brazil friendly


Rio de Janeiro, Aug 30 (IANS): Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has recalled Radamel Falcao for his team's international football friendly against Brazil next week.

The Monaco striker missed Colombia's World Cup campaign in June and July after failing to recover in time from surgery on his left knee, reports Xinhua.

"I am very happy to have Falcao back and fully recovered. We will make the right decisions to maintain his performance and protect his future," Pekerman said.

The match at Miami's Sun Life Stadium Sep 5 will be Colombia's first since their 1-2 loss to the same opponents in the World Cup quarter-finals.

Pekerman's squad also includes talismanic playmaker James Rodriguez, Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado and Porto forward Jackson Martinez.

Defenders: Pablo Armero, Cristian Zapata, Camilo Zuniga, Eder Alvarez, Santiago Arias, Carlos Valdes
