Thigh injury rules out Atletico Madrid's Luis

Segovia (Spain), July 12 (IANS/EFE): Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has been sidelined from his side's pre-season training session following a thigh injury.

The 28-year-old picked up the injury after colliding with goalkeeper David Gil.

A total of 24 players were participating in the 'Los Rojiblancos' camp in Los Angeles de San Rafael province near Madrid, reports Efe.

Spanish forward Adrian Lopez also missed the session as he travelled to Portugal to negotiate his move to FC Porto.

Atletico Madrid are the reigning La Liga champions, a title they won for the first time in 18 years. The club also advanced to the Champions League final but lost to Real Madrid.
