Mangalore, Jul 12:
Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, currently on the comeback trail after a shoulder surgery, would return to the Indian side soon, former physio of the team Andrew Leipus said here on Tuesday.

Leipus was in Mangalore in connection with a physiotherapy training programme held in MV Shetty College of Physiotherapy

Pointing to Tendulkar's stroke-filled unbeaten half century in a charity match in London, Leipus said "there is no doubt that Tendulkar will come back into the side in a short span of time by his activities on the field." On the general fitness levels of Team India, the physio said one cannot look at that aspect as a whole and the issue needed to be addressed individually.

"The fitness culture is catching with everyone", he said, adding the concept should start from the grass-root level itself.

On the domain of sports medicine in India, Leipus said it was still at an "embryonic stage".
