St Aloysius University faculty receives prestigious VGST K-FIST grant

Mangaluru, Sep 25: The Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka recognized the departments of postgraduate studies and research in biochemistry & botany, School of Life Sciences, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University and awarded the prestigious VGST K-FIST Level-I grant of Rs 20,00,000/- for the proposal titled “Establishment of an Institutional Facility for Nano-Bio-Environmental Research and Training (NBERT-AN): Biotechnological valorization of Arecanut Waste for Safe Nano-Nutraceuticals” submitted by Dr Remya Varadarajan, assistant professor of the department of biochemistry, who is also the principal investigator and Dr Sana Sheikh, department of botany as the co-investigator.

The grant amount will be utilized to develop research facilities in the university for the next two years.

The management, vice chancellor and research & development cell of the university congratulated them for their achievements.
