Azerbaijan claims to have signed F1 deal


Baku, May 1 (IANS): Azerbaijan has signed a deal to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2016.

The Azerbaijan sports ministry said here Wednesday that the race, likely to be called the European Grand Prix, will take place in 2016, reports Xinhua.

The current F1 calendar consists of 19 races with the possibility of expanding to 22. Thailand, South Africa, Greece, Argentina and Mexico also claim to be included in the calendar.
