Hyderabad, Feb 20 (IANS): Four state ministers, including state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana, called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan Thursday, a day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy submitted his resignation.

Satyanarayana and three other ministers - Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Raghuveera Reddy and Kanna Lakshminarayana - met the governor at Raj Bhavan. They are believed to have discussed latest political situation in the wake of the chief minister's resignation.

The Congress chief, who is also the state transport minister, however, termed it as a courtesy call.

The meeting of the four senior ministers of the anti-Kiran Reddy camp in the Congress with the governor assumes significance.

Of them, names of Ramnarayana Reddy and Lakshminarayana were doing rounds in political circles for the last few days as likely successor to Kiran Reddy.

Kiran Reddy submitted his resignation to the governor Wednesday to protest the bifurcation of the state. He also quit the Congress party.

Stating that he is not ready to continue as caretaker chief minister, he requested the governor to make alternate arrangements as early as possible.

With the Congress leadership not naming Kiran Reddy's successor, the state appears to be heading for President's rule.

Meanwhile, the governor is reported to have recommended President's rule. According to sources, he sent a report to the centre in this regard.

A decision to impose President's rule is likely after the bill for formation of the separate Telangana state is passed in the Rajya Sabha.
