Rohit, Ashwin steer India to 229/6 at tea


Kolkata, Nov 7 (IANS): A 73-run partnership between Rohit Sharma (61 batting) and Ravichandran Ashwin (38 batting) steered India to 229 for six at tea on day two of the first cricket Test, trailing the West Indies by just five runs at the Eden Gardens here Thursday.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (42) was the only batsman to be dismissed in the post-lunch session with the hosts adding 109 runs.
