Mangalore, Mar 8: The prestigious Dharmasthala Ratnavarma Heggade Awards awarded to selected Tulu drama manuscripts for the year 2005 have been announced.

The awards are being given for the past three decades by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade through the Tulu Koota, Mangalore.

‘Apina Poora Eddege’ by Purushotham K R Dolpady, Puttur tops the list, while ‘Kamblada Nadutonji Kathe’ by Vilas Kumar Shetty Nitte has bagged the second place.

‘Valmiki Janma Rahasya’ by Jayanthi S Suvarna Tenka Ermal stands third.

The awards include cash prizes of Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,500, respectively and certificates and mementoes. The awards will be presented on April 14, on the occasion of Bisuparba convened by Tulu Koota.

A total of 22 manuscript competed for the awards.
