Mangalore, Mar 8: This is not reel but real. Money matters created a rift between the producer and assistant director of the Tulu movie 'Koti-Chennaya'. The tiff took a violent turn when the assistant director was assaulted by the producer on Monday, March 6 at Kavoor near here.

R Dhanraj, the producer of the Tulu movie "Koti- Chennaya" is said to have tried to murder Ramdas who was working as assistant director for the same project.  After the assault Dhanraj went absconding.

However, he surrendered before the court on Tuesday, March 7. Sources reveal that Dhanraj has been granted bail.

Based on the complaint lodged by Ramdas Sasihitlu the police have seized the car, which was used during the act.

Police sources state that Dhanraj had tried to murder Ramdas by assaulting him with a wooden stick. It is also said that incomplete payment had led Ramdas refuse to assist in the completion of the movie.
