Puttur, Mar 6: In a swift operation following a reliable tip-off, Puttur rural police circle inspector T Sanjiva Naik and team seized two litres of sandalwood oil while being smuggled to Kerala.

 

Naik and his men intercepted a Maruti car at Kunjur-Panja in Aryapu near here and found the contraband, reportedly being smuggled to Kerala.

Besides seizing the car, they have arrested Hameed from Mangalore, Mohammed Rafiq and Haider Ali from Kasaragod and Mustafa from Pudu.

The oil seized in the operation is said to be of value Rs 1.5 lac in the unofficial market.
