Bangalore, Mar 4: Raghu Mukherjee, who played male lead role in the Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar directorial sandalwood film "Paris Pranaya" was rescued after he attempted to end his life on Friday March 3.

Raghu was admitted to hospital after he consumed poison on Friday.  Owing to the immediate treatment he is now recovering.

Raghu had shot to fame overnight along with female lead Minal after the release of "Paris Pranaya" which was much acclaimed by the viewers for its beautiful portrayal of a love story.  Melodious songs coupled with the genius of Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar had enabled the movie to top the charts.

Thereafter, however, Raghu was not seen in any major ventures of sandalwood.  On personal front he was facing a lot of problems ever since his marriage to Deepa a couple of years ago.  Deepa had even filed a dowry harassment case against him, which came to hearing in the court many times in the last one year.

It is said that the police were to file a chargesheet against Raghu in the same case in a Chennai Court on Saturday March 4.  Dreading the possible implications of the chargesheet, Raghu might have attempted suicide, said the police sources.
