Karkala: Mar 3: Corporation Bank, which is celebrating its centenary year has taken up an ambitious project of providing library facilities in rural areas. Towards this goal, the Corporation Bank Centenary Public Library set up under the Rural Development Project was inaugurated in Mala Gram Panchayat on Thursday March 2.

The library was inaugurated by bank assistant general manager M Narayan Bhat. Speaking on the occasion he said that the bank which has been earning sizable profits has been contributing to social welfare schemes.

Mala Gram Panchayat president Susheela Naik, vice-president Raviraj Halma, Udupi District Krishika Samaj president K B Muniraj Ballal, retired block development officer N R Chiplunkar, members Vasanth Sherigar, Rathi Poojarthi, Harishchandra Tendulkar, Anand Poojary and Vimala Poojarthi Vasanth Bhat, Corporation Bank, Mala branch manager M Ramaraya Prabhu and gram panchayat secretary K Harishchandra Rao were present on the occasion.
