Udupi, Mar 2: A pedestrian was crushed to death owing to the reckless driving of a mobike rider on National Highway 17, at Padubidri near here on Wednesday March 1.

The deceased has been identified as Narayan Gowda (45), a resident of Beedu near Padubidri.  However, he hailed from Dharmasthala near Beltangady.  But for the last 15 years he was residing at Beedu owing to his professional commitments.

On Wednesday night he was walking back to his house when a mobike hit him near NTVC of Beedu.   As a result, he fell on the road and sustained serious injuries in his head.   He was immediately admitted to a private hospital at Mangalore.  However, he succumbed to the injuries later in the night.

On the other hand the bike rider Rakesh Amin and pillion rider Surendra Yermal too have sustained injuries in the accident.  Both of them have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

The Padubidri police have booked a case in this regard.
