Mangalore, Jan 20:  The much awaited historical film ‘Koti Chennaiah’, is slated to be released in Tulu and Kannada in the city on April 6 and in Udupi on April 17.

R Dhanraj, producer of the film, said that the shooting was completed within 35 days and was shot in places like Mulki, Karkal, Hiriyadka, Kanthavar and Kolakebail, carefully chosen to restore the originality of the story to the greatest extent.

 The lead role has been played by Balakrishna as ‘Koti’ and Shekar Kotian as ‘Chennaiah’. Noted Tulu dramatist Naveen D Padil also plays a lead role in the film.

The Kannada version of the film will be released in Bangalore in June or July.
