Nashik, Sep 10: Sometimes, the decision that looks like a sacrifice can become the first step towards an unexpected success story.
For Mayuri Nitin Kale, that moment came when she received a corporate job offer with an annual package of Rs 5 lac. An engineering graduate with a promising career ahead, she could have easily accepted it. But the job required her to move to Pune, away from her young daughter.
Mayuri chose her daughter.

What seemed like giving up a promising career eventually opened the doors to entrepreneurship and a business that reportedly generates around Rs 80,000 in monthly net profit.
Originally from Songaon in Maharashtra’s Niphad taluka, Mayuri completed her BE in Electronics. After marriage and the birth of her daughter, she stepped away from her career to focus on her family.
However, she never abandoned her professional ambitions. She later completed a course in electric vehicle design, which helped her secure the Rs 5-lac corporate job offer. But relocating to Pune and spending long hours away from her daughter did not feel right. She decided to remain in Nashik.
Soon, another opportunity came her way.
Her husband suggested that she take over a Juice Farm franchise on College Road in Nashik. Despite having no prior experience in running a business, Mayuri decided to take the plunge.
She took charge of the outlet in February 2024. Her challenge became even greater when her husband travelled to Iran for work soon after. Mayuri had to manage the business while also taking care of her home and daughter.
Her days began early and often stretched until 11 pm.
She gradually learned everything from managing customers and stocks to handling suppliers, accounts and daily operations. Rather than allowing her lack of experience to discourage her, she treated every challenge as an opportunity to learn.
Mayuri soon focused on two things — quality and customer relationships. She maintained consistency in the juices and personally interacted with customers, explaining the health benefits of fresh juices.
Her efforts slowly paid off. Customers began returning regularly, while word-of-mouth publicity brought in more business.
According to Sahyadri Farms, the outlet was generating a net monthly profit of around Rs 80,000 by August 2024. Media reports have also placed its annual revenue at nearly Rs 50 lac, though these figures are reported estimates.
Mayuri’s entrepreneurial journey did not stop there. Her business now provides employment to others, and she has also ventured into another business as a partner in a Kitchen Culture outlet.
Her story is more than a tale of financial success. It is about a woman who refused to believe that motherhood meant the end of her professional dreams.
Mayuri did not choose between being a mother and being successful. Instead, she created a path that allowed her to pursue both.
The engineering graduate who once turned down a Rs 5-lac job chose uncertainty over convention, learned from scratch and built something of her own.
Her journey is a reminder that success does not always begin with a prestigious job or a big salary. Sometimes, it begins with a difficult decision, a small opportunity and the courage to take the first step.
