Mumbai, Jul 19: A video purportedly showing a woman publicly confronting and humiliating a man accused of harassing her aboard a train in Maharashtra has gone viral on social media, sparking debate over public shaming and due process.
The incident reportedly occurred on an express train travelling between Badnera and Akola. According to reports, the man allegedly harassed a young woman during the journey.
In the widely circulated video, the woman is seen applying lipstick and make-up to the man's face and placing bangles on his wrists as a symbolic act of protest. The man remains seated without offering resistance while other passengers watch the incident unfold.

Reports said fellow passengers, including several women, intervened after the alleged harassment and supported the woman, preventing the situation from escalating further.
The video has triggered mixed reactions online. While many social media users praised the woman's courage and the support extended by fellow passengers, others questioned the appropriateness of public humiliation instead of pursuing legal action.
One user wrote, "As those queens should. No excuse for molesting."
Another commented, "Serves him right. Guys like him deserve exactly this."
Others, however, argued that allegations of harassment should be addressed through the legal process.
"How are bangles and lipstick considered a punishment? If someone committed a crime, let the police arrest them and the courts decide their fate. Public humiliation isn't justice; it doesn't replace due process," one user wrote.
Another said, "I don't understand what type of punishment is this. She should seek help from the police if he really molested her."
A third user commented, "Mob justice may feel satisfying in the moment, but the real solution is a strong legal system. Anyone accused of harassment must face proper investigation and punishment through law, not just public humiliation."
The authenticity of the viral video and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not been independently verified, and there has been no official statement from the Railway Police regarding the matter.
