Mangaluru, Jun 22: A 26-year-old youth lost his life after his two-wheeler rammed into the rear of a moving lorry on the railway overbridge at Ekkur on National Highway 66 here on January 21 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sudheesh C K, a resident of Pathoor in Varkady, Manjeshwar. He was employed as an AC mechanic.

The tragic incident took place when Sudheesh was commuting from his home to the city on Sunday morning. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that speeding might have been the primary cause of the accident.

According to sources, Sudheesh crashed his bike into a heavy lorry moving ahead of him on the Ekkur railway overbridge, sustaining severe head injuries in the impact. Local residents immediately rushed the grievously injured youth to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries due to massive blood loss and failed to respond to the treatment.
