Udupi, Jun 20: Udupi District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor said that Rahul Gandhi is a leader of India's future who continues to raise his voice for social justice despite facing constant criticism.
He was speaking after inaugurating a programme organized on June 19, at the Congress Bhavan in Udupi under the leadership of Udupi Block Congress president Ramesh Kanchan to mark the birthday of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. As part of the event, assistive devices and nutrition kits were distributed to persons with disabilities.











Ashok Kumar Kodavoor said that Rahul Gandhi has consistently stood with the people, responded to their hardships, and fought for social justice. He wished the programme, organized to celebrate Rahul Gandhi's birthday in a meaningful way through service to the needy, great success.
Congress leader Prasad Raj Kanchan said that the Congress party has made immense contributions to the country's development. He stated that the welfare schemes implemented during Congress governments for the upliftment of the poor have played a significant role in placing India on the path of development.
He alleged that opposition parties are working for the prosperity of the rich rather than the welfare of the poor, and asserted that the Congress remains the only political force genuinely committed to serving the underprivileged.
He further said that without the Congress party, the poor could face greater hardships, and appealed to people to support the Congress in the interest of social development.
The programme was presided over by Udupi Block Congress president Ramesh Kanchan.
During the event, around 75 persons with disabilities were provided with assistive devices, including hearing aids, commode wheelchairs, water beds, walkers, walking sticks, crutches, and nutrition kits.
Among those present were Congress leaders Hari Prasad Rai, M A Gaffoor, Keshava Kotian, Prakhyath Shetty, Narasimha Murthy, Sadananda Kanchan, Habeeb Ali, Kushal Shetty, Mahabala Kunder, Prashanth Jattann, Ganesh Nergi, Sajjan Shetty, Jyothi Hebbar, Hammad, Suraj Kalmadi, Saurabh Ballal, Suresh Shetty Bannanje, Raghavendra N, Mamatha Shetty, Harish Kini, Keerthi Shetty, Kishan Hegde, and others.
