Udupi, Jun 17: The Udupi district administration has issued a comprehensive notification imposing strict prohibitory orders around all designated examination centres ahead of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 21.

The stringent security measures will establish restricted security zones within a 200-metre radius of the six testing venues identified across the district. Issued by district magistrate and deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K, the orders will remain in force on Sunday, June 21, 2026, specifically during the examination hours from 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm, to ensure a fair and transparent testing environment.

To prevent examination malpractices such as high-tech cheating, impersonation, and external disturbances, a complete ban has been imposed on the operation of all photocopy (Xerox) shops, cyber centres, and book stalls within the 200-metre perimeter. These establishments will be required to remain closed throughout the examination period.

Furthermore, public assemblies of five or more persons are strictly prohibited within the restricted zone, and the use of loudspeakers or sound-amplifying devices has been banned to maintain silence around the examination venues. Candidates and unauthorised persons are expressly prohibited from carrying any electronic devices or personal belongings, including mobile phones, tablets, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, wallets, purses, calculators, or loose notes, into the examination centres.

These restrictions will not apply to official examination invigilators, internal test centre staff, or police personnel deployed on security duty.

The superintendent of police has been instructed to deploy adequate police personnel and ensure proper bandobast at all examination centres. In addition, the tahsildars and taluk magistrates of Udupi and Brahmavar will directly supervise compliance within their respective jurisdictions to ensure a peaceful and disciplined environment for all candidates appearing for the examination.
