Mangaluru, Jun 17: In an innovative effort to create awareness among the public about traffic rules and road safety, Mangaluru City police has launched a unique traffic awareness campaign using creative storytelling and engaging video content.
The campaign features characters inspired by mythology, including Yamaraja and Chitragupta, who appear in the video to educate citizens about the importance of following traffic rules. Through this creative approach, the police department highlights the consequences of traffic violations and encourages people to adopt responsible road behaviour.

The awareness video focuses on important traffic safety measures such as wearing helmets, obeying traffic signals, avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, wearing seat belts, and maintaining safe speed limits. The message emphasizes that following traffic rules is not only a legal responsibility but also a crucial step towards protecting lives.
Mangaluru City police has also highlighted the role of advanced technology in improving traffic management. AI-based cameras installed across the city monitor traffic violations round the clock and help authorities identify offences such as riding without helmets, not wearing seat belts, and signal violations. The system enables quick detection of violations, and notices are sent directly to the registered vehicle owners.
Through this campaign, Mangaluru City police aims to reach a wider audience and encourage citizens to become more aware and responsible road users. The initiative is expected to contribute to reducing accidents and creating a safer traffic environment in the city.
The police department has urged citizens to cooperate and follow traffic rules for their own safety and the safety of others.
