UDWJA president Subramanya G Kuriya selected for 'Yasho Madhyama-2026' Award

Udupi, Jun 12: Senior journalist and president of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA), Subramanya G Kuriya, has been selected for the prestigious 'Yasho Madhyama-2026' Award instituted by Spandana Seva Sanstha, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.

Announcing the award, Rajani V Pai, treasurer of Spandana Seva Sanstha, said that the organization presents the award every year to a deserving journalist from Udupi district in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of journalism.

The award will be presented during a free book distribution programme for students of Hindu Higher Primary School, Kaliyanpur, scheduled to be held on Monday, June 15 at 10 am.

Former Karnataka Minister Pramod Madhwaraj will inaugurate the programme. Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar will preside over the function.

Among the chief guests will be journalists Janardhan Kodavoor; Ramaraya Kini, administrative Moktesar of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Kaliyanpur; Subramanya Karanth, administrator of Hindu Higher Primary School; Lokesh Poojary, landscape designer; Dr Maria Pais, assistant professor at Manipal College of Nursing; Rajani V Pai, treasurer of Spandana Seva Sansthe and Santosh Kamath, Secretary.

Rajani V Pai further informed that the newly elected governing committee of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Kaliyanpur, will also be felicitated by Spandana Seva Sanstha during the programme.
