Seventh day of Novena devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony held at Dornahalli, Mysuru

Mysuru, Jun 10: The seventh day of the Novena devotion in preparation for the grand annual feast of St Anthony was prayerfully celebrated on Wednesday, June 10, at St Anthony’s Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysuru.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Valentine Rajendra Kumar, parish priest, St Peter’s Church, Bogadi. He was joined by Fr David Sagayaraj, rector of St Anthony’s Basilica, and Fr Praveen Pedru, administrator of the Basilica.

A large number of devotees gathered for the holy Mass and Novena service, uniting in prayer and devotion as part of the ongoing preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony. In his homily, Fr Valentine Rajendra Kumar encouraged the faithful to deepen their trust in god and remain steadfast in prayer, drawing inspiration from the life and virtues of St. Anthony.

Following the eucharistic celebration, the Novena prayers were offered in honour of St Anthony for the intentions of the devotees. The devotion concluded with the procession of the holy statue of St Anthony and the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, leaving the faithful spiritually renewed and strengthened in faith.

As the Novena continues, devotees from various regions continue to flock to Dornahalli Basilica, preparing themselves spiritually for the upcoming Annual Feast celebrations.
