Udupi: Unidentified man run over by train near Brahmavar; dies on spot

Udupi, Jun 9: An unidentified man, believed to be around 50 years of age, was killed after being run over by a train near Heroor village in Brahmavar taluk.

According to sources, the incident occurred at around 1.10 pm on June 1 when the Mangaluru Express was passing over the railway bridge in Heroor village. The man was reportedly lying on the railway track at the time of the incident.

Owing to insufficient distance to apply emergency brakes, the train ran over him, resulting in his death on the spot.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
