Bantwal, Mar 30: Atmi Shetty, a Bharatanatyam student at Kalanikethan Dance Foundation (Regd), Kalladka, is set to make her Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha (debut performance) on the evening of April 4 at Sparsha Kalamandira, BC Road, dance guru Vidushi Vidya Manoj announced.
Speaking at a press conference held at BC Road Press Club, Vidushi Vidya Manoj said that Atmi Shetty has been training under her for 12 years and is currently preparing for the Vidwat final examination. She added that Atmi Shetty has performed on numerous prestigious stages and has earned recognition as a rising talent in the classical arts.


“The Rangapravesha is a culmination of years of dedication and discipline,” she said. “Atmi Shetty is a promising young artiste who has won the appreciation of audiences wherever she has performed,” she added.
The programme will see several eminent guests in attendance, including dance guru and Shantala Award recipient Ullal Mohan Kumar, Guru Vidushi Nayana V Rai, director of Puttur Vishwakalanikethan, Dr Krupa Padke, director of Nrityagiri Mysore Bharatanatyam Academy, Patla Satish Shetty of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, and entrepreneur Chandrahasa D Shetty.
Accompanying artists for the performance will include Guru Vidushi Vidya Manoj in acting (Natya Vangam), Vidwan Nandakumar Unnikrishnan of Bengaluru on vocals, Vidwan Karthik Vaidatri of Bengaluru on mridangam, Vidwan Niteesh Ammanaya of Bengaluru on flute, and Vidwan Gopal Venkataraman of Bengaluru on veena.
Speaking about her debut, Atmi Shetty said, “My Rangapravesha is the fulfilment of my parents’ dream. With the encouragement and guidance of my gurus, I am ready to take the stage.”
The press conference was attended by Uday Kumar Shetty, Shalini Shetty, and maternal uncle Santhosh Shetty.
