Mumbai, Mar 26: Loretta Fernandes, the veteran Mangalorean Konkani singing sensation popularly known as 'Lolla', passed away following a massive heart attack at her residence in Santacruz (West), Mumbai, on Thursday, March 26. She was 80.

Born on May 7, 1946, Loretta was a powerhouse of talent who left an indelible mark on the Konkani music world during her prime. She began her journey in the entertainment industry as an actor in 1968 before transitioning to singing in 1972, a move that would define her illustrious career.

Throughout her career, she collaborated and performed with legendary music directors and singers, including Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus, P H Pinto, Henry D'souza, and Victor Concessao.

Some of her most memorable and hit songs include "Fulwali," "Try Try Try," and "Daddy," which remain popular among Konkani music enthusiasts even today. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Konkani stage in Mumbai and Mangaluru.

She breathed her last at 11 am on Thursday.

Funeral will be held on Friday, March 27 at Sacred Heart Church, Santacruz West. Viewing will be held from 3:30pm, followed by Mass at 4 pm.

May her Soul rest in peace. Deep condolences to her family members who has taken care of her even she is single. Most of her presentations I have seen her with our Late Victor Concessao only who was working for Konkani spending money from his own pocket. Even I saw her acting with late Pintam Derebail also. A big salute for her Konkani Seva.
