Mangaluru: J Preemal captures maiden national title at 34th Tenpin Bowling Championship

Bengaluru, Mar 15: In a proud moment for the coastal city, Mangaluru’s own J Preemal scripted history by clinching her maiden national title at the ARC 34th National Tenpin Bowling Championships, held at Amoeba on Saturday.

Representing Karnataka, Preemal delivered a stellar performance in the women’s division final. Facing off against the top seed and seasoned veteran Sabeena Athica of Tamil Nadu, Preemal showed immense composure under pressure to secure a 332-308 victory. This win marks a significant milestone in her sporting career, establishing her as a formidable force in Indian bowling.

In the men’s category, fellow Karnataka player R Kishan completed the state's sweep by defeating Akaash Ashok Kumar 452-429 to take the men's title.

Tournament Highlights:

  • Women’s Final: J Preemal (Karnataka) def. Sabeena Athica (Tamil Nadu) 332-308.

  • Special Recognition: Suchita Kumar was named the 'Most Promising Player' in the women's category.
