Karwar, Mar 7: Tragedy struck Uttara Kannada district on March 5 when Mukesh Krishna Shetty, 39, a Mangaluru-based web developer and founder of Max Infotech, lost his life in a severe collision between his car and a KSRTC bus near Malalagav village in Yellapur taluk of Uttara Kannada district.

Shetty, who was travelling from Kundapur to Hubballi, was rushed to Yellapur Government Hospital with serious injuries following the crash. Despite emergency treatment, he succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed on Saturday.

Eyewitness reports indicated that while the front of Shetty’s car was completely crushed in the impact, he suffered only minor injuries to his legs and hands, thanks to the airbags, which had deployed, and the seat belt he was wearing. The airbag appeared to have malfunctioned, raising questions about whether it deployed at the moment of collision.

Shetty is survived by his wife, mother, and two brothers, leaving behind a grieving family and community.
