Udupi: Fire services personnel rescue man from well after daring operation

Udupi, Mar 5: In a courageous rescue operation, personnel from the Udupi district fire and emergency services saved the life of a 59-year-old man who had fallen into a well at his residence in the city.

The rescued individual has been identified as Jayakar Nayak (59), a resident of Sagri in Udupi. He was found trapped inside the well located within his house premises. It is suspected that he may have slipped and fallen or possibly jumped into the well. Sources mentioned that Jayakar was known to have a history of excessive alcohol consumption.

Upon receiving information, the fire personnel rushed to the spot and undertook a challenging rescue operation. After nearly half an hour of strenuous effort, the team successfully brought him out of the well, risking their own lives in the process.

Following the rescue, Jayakar was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. He is reported to be out of danger.

Local residents appreciated the timely and brave action of the fire and emergency staff. The Udupi fire personnel have previously carried out several difficult rescue operations, earning public praise for their dedication and commitment to saving lives.
