Kundapur: Police arrest 10-year absconder in West Bengal, now lodged in Hiriyadka jail

Kundapur, March 3: The Kundapur Rural police have successfully arrested an accused who had been absconding for nearly ten years in connection with a criminal case.

The accused, identified as Shashikant Shetty (44), a resident of Akkunje, Siddapura village in Kundapur, Udupi, was wanted in a criminal case.

After sustained efforts, the police traced Shetty in Baninathpur, Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He was apprehended by ASI Shankar S and head constable Ashok Shetty of the Kundapur Rural police station.

The accused was produced before the Hon’ble ACJ and JMFC Court, Kundapur, on March 1. The court ordered judicial custody, and he has been lodged in the Hiriyadka jail.
