Mangaluru, March 1: International flight operations from Mangaluru International Airport to several West Asian destinations were suspended on Sunday, March 1 and Monday, March 2, following airspace restrictions in parts of the region amid the escalating Iran–Israel conflict and reported attacks on Iran.

Airport authorities confirmed that services to Jeddah, Muscat, Dubai, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi were affected after restrictions were imposed on aircraft movement through Iranian airspace.

Several Air India Express flights were cancelled on March 1, including IX845 (Mangaluru–Jeddah) and IX846 (Jeddah–Mangaluru); IX817 (Mangaluru–Muscat) and IX818 (Muscat–Mangaluru); IX831 and IX813 (Mangaluru–Dubai), along with IX832 (Dubai–Mangaluru); IX841 (Mangaluru–Bahrain); and IX815 (Mangaluru–Abu Dhabi).

On March 2, additional inbound services have been cancelled, including IX814 (Dubai–Mangaluru), IX842 (Bahrain–Mangaluru) and IXR16 (Abu Dhabi–Mangaluru).

IndiGo flights were also impacted. Flight 6E 1467 (Dubai–Mangaluru), scheduled to arrive at 4.30 pm, was cancelled, along with outbound services 6E 1438 (Mangaluru–Dubai) and 6E 1468 (Mangaluru–Abu Dhabi).

Among the cancelled departures from Mangaluru were the 9.25 am service to Muscat, 1.20 pm, 7.15 pm and 8.15 pm services to Dubai, 8.55 pm service to Bahrain, and 9.05 pm service to Abu Dhabi.

Authorities stated that all Air India Express flights from Mangaluru to Gulf nations were cancelled as a precautionary measure. The disruption left several passengers stranded, particularly those bound for Dubai.

Additional seating arrangements were made at the kerbside area of the airport, while airline staff coordinated rescheduling and provided updates. Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines or official websites for the latest flight status before proceeding to the airport.
