Mumbai, Feb 24: In an organisational reshuffle, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra has appointed first-time BMC corporator Navnath Ban as the party’s chief spokesperson. The announcement was made by State president Ravindra Chavan on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Ban, who earlier served as the State media chief of the party, replaces Keshav Upadhye in the key post.

Addressing a press conference, Chavan unveiled the names of the party’s new State office-bearers, including chief spokespersons, general secretaries, secretaries, vice-presidents, treasurer and the BJP Yuva Morcha president.
Chavan said that although he was entrusted with the responsibility of State president by the Central leadership a few months ago, the announcement of the new executive was delayed due to the Model Code of Conduct and local body elections.
He stated that the appointments were finalised after consultations with national president Nitin Nabin, senior leaders Amit Shah, B. L. Santhosh and Shiv Prakash, as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other key State leaders.
“As per the BJP constitution and keeping in mind the situation in Maharashtra, every karyakarta is capable. However, opportunities are limited,” Chavan said, congratulating those appointed while acknowledging that many others could not be accommodated.
According to the list released by the party, MLAs Atul Bhatkhalkar, Bharati Pawar, Sanjay Korge, Sanjay Bhende, Ramdas Kadam, Keshav Upadhye, Gopichand Padalkar, Priya Shinde, Sujay Vikhe Patil and Archana Patil Chakurkar have been appointed as State vice-presidents.
MLC Niranjan Davkhare, Sanjay Kute, Madhavi Naik, Rajesh Pande, Sunil Rane and Yogesh Sagar have been named general secretaries.
The secretaries include Mangesh Chavan, Parinay Fuke, Varsha Dahale, Sanjay Jagtap, Archana Dehankar, Rohini Naidu, Ram Satpute, Pravin Ghughe, Rekha Kulkarni and Bhairavi Ghak.
Krishnaraj Mahadik has been appointed president of the BJP Yuva Morcha, Chitra Wagh will head the BJP Mahila Morcha, Yogesh Tilekar the BJP OBC Morcha, and MLA Mihir Kotecha has been named the State treasurer.
