Mangaluru, Feb 20: The 77th birthday of ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Dr MN Rajendra Kumar will be celebrated on February 24 with a felicitation programme and distribution of welfare benefits to deserving beneficiaries. Aikala Bava Deviprasad Shetty Belapu, president of the felicitation committee, announced the details during a press conference.

The South Canara District Central Co-operative (SCDCC) Bank, which has earned recognition at the state and national levels for its dedicated service in strengthening the cooperative sector, has witnessed significant growth under the leadership of Dr Rajendra Kumar. His commitment and visionary leadership have earned him immense trust and respect, making him a model cooperative leader across Karnataka and the country.

The celebration will be held on February 24 at 10:30 am in the SCDCC Bank auditorium. The programme will include a felicitation ceremony for Dr Rajendra Kumar and the distribution of welfare benefits to 77 deserving beneficiaries, symbolically marking his 77th birthday. The initiative reflects his lifelong dedication to strengthening the cooperative movement and supporting people from all sections of society.

The event will be inaugurated by Karnataka Legislative Assembly speaker UT Khader Fareed. Former chief minister of Karnataka M Veerappa Moily will deliver the felicitation address, while Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath will preside over the function.

Dr Rajendra Kumar will accept the felicitation on behalf of the cooperative fraternity. Representatives from various cooperative institutions, well-wishers, and dignitaries are expected to attend the programme in large numbers.
