Nanded, Feb 16: Crime involving minors appears to be on the rise in the district, with two separate tragic incidents reported from Nanded on Sunday.
In a shocking case, three minor boys allegedly stabbed their 16-year-old friend to death over a trivial dispute in the Govardhan Ghat area. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon, created panic in the locality.

The deceased was a Class 11 student. According to police sources, he had a quarrel with friends from his neighbourhood about eight to ten days ago and had allegedly assaulted one of them. Though the dispute was later settled through mediation, the accused reportedly nursed a grudge and plotted revenge.
On Sunday afternoon, after learning that the victim was near the Govardhan Ghat bridge, the three minors confronted him and attacked him with a knife. He sustained serious injuries in the assault. The injured boy was rushed on a scooter to a private hospital in the Kautha area for treatment, but he succumbed due to excessive blood loss.
After the incident, the accused fled the scene. The Local Crime Branch apprehended all three minors while they were attempting to escape via the Narsi Naigaon route. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, Wazirabad Police Station registered a case of murder. All three accused are minors.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old boy died after being hit by a bull during a bull clash event in Kandhar taluk. The event had been organised by local youths at Alegaon village on Sunday.
During the final round of the bull clash, the animal reportedly rammed into the boy, identified as Khandu Jhampalwad from Bachoti village. He was preparing to appear for his Class 10 board examinations, which are scheduled to begin soon.
His death has cast a pall of gloom over Bachoti village. Usman Nagar Police Station has taken note of the incident and the process of registering a case is underway.
