Mangaluru, Jan 11: A car overturned after a collision between two cars near the Badaga Ekkaru Katilu gate on January 10 afternoon, leaving two occupants with injuries to their hands.
The accident occurred when a Fortuner car was travelling from Katilu towards Bajpe. At a curve near the gate, the driver swerved left to avoid colliding with an Etios car that was heading towards Katilu. In the process, the Fortuner mounted large drinking water pipes lying at the spot, lost control, and overturned. Both vehicles sustained damage.

A series of accidents have been reported on State Highway 67. Road excavation work is currently underway in the Bajpe, Permude, and Ekkaru areas for laying drinking water pipelines. In addition, works to straighten road curves are in progress at Permude and Ekkaru.
As soil has been spread across the road due to these works, motorists have been advised to drive at moderate speeds. Locals have also cautioned two-wheeler riders to be alert, as loose soil on the road could cause skidding.
